Nondispersive Space–Time Wave Packets Propagating in Dispersive Media

چکیده
Space–time wave packets can propagate invariantly in free space with arbitrary group velocity thanks to the spatio-temporal correlation. Here it is proved that space–time are stable dispersive media as well and from spread time caused by material dispersion. Furthermore, law of anomalous refraction for generalized weakly situation. These results reveal new potential applications real media.

Nondispersive two-electron wave packets in driven helium
We provide a detailed quantum treatment of the spectral characteristics and of the dynamics of nondispersive two-electron wave packets along the periodically driven, collinear frozen planet configuration of helium. These highly correlated, long-lived wave packets arise as a quantum manifestation of regular islands in a mixed classical phase space, which are induced by nonlinear resonances betwe...
متن کاملFictitious-time wave-packet dynamics. I. Nondispersive wave packets in the quantum Coulomb problem
Nondispersive wave packets in a fictitious time variable are calculated analytically for the field-free hydrogen atom. As is well known by means of the Kustaanheimo-Stiefel transformation the Coulomb problem can be converted into that of a four-dimensional harmonic oscillator, subject to a constraint. This regularization makes use of a fictitious time variable, but arbitrary Gaussian wave packe...
متن کاملElastic Gaussian Wave Packets in Isotropic Media
The theory of Gaussian wave packet (GWP) propagation in elastic materials is developed. The GWP solutions are in the form of localized disturbances with Gaussian spatial envelopes at any instant in time. The method is explicitly time dependent, but is conceptually no more difficult than time halmonic ray theory. The equations of propagation and evolution are very similar to those of standard, e...
متن کاملNon-dispersive wave packets in periodically driven quantum systems
With the exception of the harmonic oscillator, quantum wave-packets usually spread as time evolves. This is due to the non-linear character of the classical equations of motion which makes the various components of the wave-packet evolve at various frequencies. We show here that, using the nonlinear resonance between an internal frequency of a system and an external periodic driving, it is poss...
متن کاملSpontaneous emission of non-dispersive Rydberg wave packets
Non dispersive electronic Rydberg wave packets may be created in atoms illuminated by a microwave field of circular polarization. We discuss the spontaneous emission from such states and show that the elastic incoherent component (occuring at the frequency of the driving field) dominates the spectrum in the semiclassical limit, contrary to earlier predictions. We calculate the frequencies of si...
